Support groups


Outlook community centre offers access to various support groups. If you have a need, would like to see a group started, or are looking for somewhere for your group to meet, please contact Outlook community centre to discuss.


Over 60s women's  group

Do you enjoy a coffee, a chat and want to make new friends? This group enjoys craft activities, guest speakers and going on excursions. Come along and see if this informal, relaxed group is for you.

Tuesdays, 10.00am – 12.00pm.

Cost: $4 per session.


Friendship fridays

This group meets weekly for outings, movies, lunches, shows and attractions.

If you like to get out and about and are looking for fun and friendship, then this is the group for you! 


First Friday of the month. Meet at Outlook at 10.30am -11.30am for coffee and a chat, to discuss outings for the month and then head out for lunch.

Cost: $4 plus outing costs


Gardening group


Are you interested in gardening?  Would you like to know more about plants in your garden? You don’t have to have a garden to belong to this group – just a love of gardens. Join us for information sharing, problem solving, cutting swapping and guest speakers.

First Friday of the month, 10.30am - 12.00pm.

Cost: $4 per session.


For those who like to get out and about and visit gardens (both public and private), there is also the option of excursions on the third Friday of the month.


Card games social group

Bridge, 500, Canasta, Euchre, Solo

Join this group and gather with others who love playing card games of all types.  Exercise your brain and have some fun.   Informal, friendly and non-competitive.

Every Tuesday, 1.00pm – 4.00pm.

Cost: $4 per session.



Mahjong is a fun and popular puzzle game in Asia. Learn the meaning behind each tile and how to properly organise the tiles to play.  This group is relaxed and informal.

Every Tuesday (Except Public Holidays), 1.00pm – 4.00pm.

Market place marchers

Pakenham Central Marketplace is a great place to walk because it is a sheltered indoor space, free from traffic and bad weather.  Suitable for all ages and abilities. Join us in this Heart Foundation Walking Group to enjoy safe and comfortable physical activity.

Where: Pakenham Central Marketplace, 20 - 54 John St Pakenham. Meet at the top of the escalator outside The Reject Shop. 

Every Friday (except public holidays), 8.00am - 9.00am.

Cost: Free


Toomuc valley walking group

Our Heart Foundation Walking Group caters to walkers of all levels. Enjoy a walk through parklands, enjoy the fresh air and come back invigorated. A great way to stay fit and healthy and to meet other community members. Meet at Outlook Community Centre Reception.

Every Tuesday (except public holidays), 9.30am – 10.30am.

Cost: Free


Cardinia wanderers

Are you looking for a walk that is a bit more challenging and longer in distance?

Get some exercise whilst enjoying fresh air and exploring different places each week. Look after your health and wellbeing, and make some new friends along the way. These walks are over 5km.

Wednesdays – Leave Outlook at 12.30pm .

Community Garden

Cardinia crafters

A community group that meets to share craft ideas. Phone Margaret on (03) 5629 5403 for more information. Refer to the Community Centre course guide for more details.

Every second Saturday of the month, 10.00am – 3.00pm.


Knit and knatter

Learn how to knit or crochet, or pass your skills on to others. New and more experienced knitters welcome. Come and try this relaxing pastime.

1st Saturday of the month, 10.00am – 2.00pm 

Cost:  $4 per session


Book discussion group

Joining a book discussion group is a great way to expand your reading experience.   It gives you the opportunity to talk about a specific book with a group of like-minded people in your community.  They are fun and relaxing sessions - books, coffee and friendship supplied.

First Wednesday of the month, 7.00pm – 9.00pm

Cost: $5 per session


Men’s discussion group

A relaxed and informal gathering for men. It’s a group of blokes over 50 who meet for a coffee and a chat, discussing issues of interest and concerns, with plenty of laughs. Come along to one of our chat groups, meet new people in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and see if it is for you.

Saturday Walking Group of Seniors

This is a local walk which includes a stop at the coffee shop for a free cuppa and a chat with your fellow walkers.

Please be aware that as of 1st January 2019, participation of the any group of class at the community centre requires an annual membership. You can learn more here.
