Discover the opportunity 

This is an exciting time for you to join our organisation in this newly created role. Be part of the People and Culture Team, working collaboratively with management of teams to facilitate operational performance and capability. You will play a pivotal role in helping to build WHS knowledge and capability throughout the Commercial Division (which includes waste management, transfer stations and skip bin services) of the organisation and ensure compliance.


Your days will include:

  • Leading, monitoring and coaching managers and teams in the Safety Plan review and implementation, safety management systems, legislative compliance and organisational policies and procedures.

  • Undertaking health and safety compliance improvements, risk assessments, and audits, developing risk reduction programs, systems and tools.

  • Driving and facilitating change through design and delivery of strategic work, health and safety projects.

  • Support the practice of quality WHS reporting, investigations and incident resolution.


What you will bring to the role:

  • A WHS Qualification, ideally with at least 5 years' experience in a similar role, developing and implementing safety management frameworks, policies, procedures and systems compliant with ISO 45001.

  • A proactive and consultative approach in providing expert advice and support to employees and leaders in meeting WHS legislative and regulatory requirements, across a diverse workforce.

  • A strong knowledge and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation and regulatory requirements across various States and experience working with WHS related documents.

  • Well developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.

  • Well developed planning, time management and attention to detail.
