We are proud to share that Outlook has successfully re-tendered for the Melton Recycling Facility, securing ongoing management of both the reuse shop and the transfer station.
This was a highly competitive tender process and winning the contract in such a crowded field is a strong endorsement of Outlook’s experience, resilience and long-term commitment to high-quality service delivery.
The new agreement will run for an initial term of three years, with two further one-year extensions. It will continue to support 28 staff, creating stable and meaningful employment while delivering essential recycling and waste services to the Melton community. We are proud to announce that 77% of staff across Outlook’s waste management social enterprise come from priority groups such as those with disability, long term unemployment, migrant and refugee status and First Nations workers.
The Melton site represents a significant ongoing partnership between Outlook and City of Melton. Like any long-term partnership, it has required adaptability, persistence and a willingness to grow and develop. Securing this re-tender marks Outlook’s third contract renewal at the site and reflects the progress we have made together. We are proud to partner with a local council who shares our drive to deliver a commercially viable essential service, with a socially focused approach.

This outcome recognises the strength of our team on the ground, whose professionalism and commitment have helped stabilise operations and deliver consistent outcomes in a demanding environment. It also reflects the trust built with council through transparency, continuous improvement and a shared focus on community impact.
Melton remains one of Outlook’s most significant operations and a clear example of how social enterprises can compete head-to-head with commercial providers while delivering strong environmental and social outcomes.
We’re proud of how far this site has come and excited to continue building on that work in the years ahead.
