Our Circular Impact
Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) is building a stronger circular economy by setting up a statewide system to provide 10c refunds for eligible drink containers returned to one of hundreds of refund points across the state.
Outlook partners with approved operators to manage one major Melbourne depot, as well as a fleet of reverse vending machine cleaning crews.
This allows us to provide further opportunities across the priority workforce, such as members of our community experiencing disadvantage – including long-term unemployment, mental health challenges, migrant and refugee workers and workers with disability, to upskill and gain meaningful mainstream employment within one of Outlook’s social enterprises.
Outlook is keen to work with corporate partners, sporting clubs, businesses and community groups to provide a cost neutral solution for eligible containers at your sites.
CDS Vic provides a 10-cent refund for every eligible drink container returned at refund points across Victoria.
Every bottle, can and carton you return helps divert valuable containers from landfills.
Participating in the scheme is as easy as 1, 2, 3
- Collect eligible drink containers. Look for the 10c mark on the back of the pack.
Most aluminium, glass, plastic and paper (carton) drink containers between 150ml and 3l are eligible.
TIP: Keep lids on and DON’T crush them. - Return your containers to a CDS Vic refund point.
- Earn a refund.
Depending on the type of refund point you visit, your refund can be provided in cash, direct bank transfer, shopping voucher or donation to a CDS Vic registered donation partner.
Outlook depots offer all refund types, including instant cash refunds.

Outlook works with corporate partners, sporting clubs, businesses and community groups to provide a cost neutral solution for eligible containers at your sites.
Outlook can provide a bin delivery and collection service, providing more jobs for people experiencing disadvantage.
Partners can add this as a revenue stream for their organisation, nominate a CDS Vic registered donation partner or choose to donate the refund to Outlook Australia, allowing us to further our reach and impact within the community.
