To celebrate Global Recycling Day on 18 March 2026, Outlook Australia presents Upcycle Champions. Show off your creative ideas to inspire the next generation of upcycle champions!

We have been blown away by the creativity, passion and absolute ingenuity in this year’s entries. From clever crafts to full-on transformations, these projects prove that a little imagination can go a long way.

All entries that used items purchased from a Refindit by Outlook reuse shop were automatically entered into the draw. We loved seeing these materials brought back to life in such creative ways.

COMPETITION WINNER:

A huge congratulations to Bradley B. from Strathfieldsaye, VIC

Bradley transformed old fridges and freezers into incredible street libraries for the whole community to enjoy. From books for all ages, to board games, a jigsaw library, and even a seed library coming soon – this project is packed with creativity and generosity. We loved this entry for tackling a tricky item to reuse and turning it into something that brings people together. Bradley’s upcycled community library is a brilliant example of upcycling with real community impact!

Our Finalists and Winners

HOW IT WORKS:
Upload a photo and share some details about your project. Nominate your closest Refindit by Outlook reuse shop. Each site will choose a finalist and from these finalists, one winner will be chosen. Our finalists and winner will share in $1000 of prize money!

BONUS DRAW:
If your upcycle project includes items purchased from a Refindit by Outlook shop, you will go into the draw to WIN a bonus $100 Visa gift card.

This competition is open to all residents of Australia. By entering, you agree to have your name and the details of your upcycling project published on Outlook Australia social media pages and website. Multiple entries are permitted, as long as each entry is a different upcycle project. Entries close at 5pm AEDT on Sunday 8 March 2026 and winners will be announced on Global Recycling Day – Wednesday 18 March 2026. Winners will be notified by email. Nine finalists will each receive a $100 prepaid Visa gift card. The winner will receive a $200 Visa gift card.
