When we received the exciting news that Outlook Australia had been successful in securing the gatehouse and weighbridge operations across 11 sites in Mackay, we knew we had to act fast. With only one month to mobilise, a rapid response was needed to ensure a smooth transition – and that’s exactly what we did!
Within days, CEO Daniel Findley, Executive for People and Culture Nicole Hee, Regional Manager for Queensland Lori Giles, and myself – Callum Ross Executive for Social Enterprise, quickly arranged flights to Mackay. We hit the ground ready to introduce Outlook to the existing team, visit as many sites as possible, and lay the groundwork for a successful mobilisation. Despite the challenge of a significant flood event unfolding across the region, we managed to meet many of the current operators, providing them with information about Outlook and supporting them in making the decision to join our team.
We were blown away by the warm welcome we received and the professionalism of the operators who keep these sites running day-in and day-out. Thanks to the incredible support of our People & Culture Team, who followed up with every operator after our visit, we’re thrilled to welcome the entire existing team into the Outlook family! Their knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we prepare to go live.
Adding to the excitement, we’re also delighted to welcome Dom Formosa as our newest contract manager. Dom will be leading the Mackay operations and brings a wealth of experience and leadership that will be instrumental in ensuring we mobilise on time, fully staffed, and prepared for success.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in this rapid mobilisation effort in Mackay. This was a true team effort, and we can’t wait to officially kick things off in Mackay, working closely with our partners at Mackay Regional Council to create sustainable outcomes in the region!
