Outlook Australia is proud to announce a new partnership with Carlton Football Club under Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) – a collaboration that combines environmental responsibility with community impact.
Through the partnership, Outlook has supplied and now services seven recycling bins at Carlton Football Club, Ikon Park. Eligible drink containers collected through these bins are returned via Outlook’s Bayswater depot, with 100% of the refunds donated by the Club to a nominated charity.
A Partnership with Purpose
The initiative was established following discussions between Carlton Football Club and Outlook’s depot management team, who share a commitment to sustainability and positive social impact. As a social enterprise, Outlook reinvests its earnings into programs that create inclusive employment opportunities and improve environmental outcomes.
Carlton Football Club selected Outlook as their recycling partner not only for our environmental expertise but also for our community focus.
Carlton’s Commitment to Sustainability
Tim Kalkman, Director of Strategic Projects at Carlton Football Club, said:
“As part of our broader commitment to reducing waste to landfill, partnering with Outlook under Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme was a natural fit. It’s a simple but effective way to promote recycling at the Club, and the fact that the refunds go directly to our Carlton Respects program makes it a win-win for both sustainability and community impact.”
With Outlook’s reverse vending machine cleaning operating close to the Club, the process is efficient and cost-effective. Our team coordinates routine collections with minimal disruption, demonstrating how sustainable practices can be seamlessly integrated into everyday operations.
Leading by Example
Carlton Football Club’s commitment to recycling through the CDS sets a strong example for other sporting organisations across Victoria. By transforming everyday containers into charitable donations, the Club is showing how small actions can generate meaningful social and environmental outcomes.
Outlook looks forward to building similar partnerships with other clubs and community organisations to advance the goals of a cleaner environment and a more inclusive society.
