On Tuesday 5 May 2026, around 60 guests ventured down the rabbit hole at Outlook Community Centre for a wonderfully whimsical Mad Hatter Tea Party, held in support of Cancer Council Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

The event brought the community together for a morning of fun, laughter and fundraising, with guests enjoying a range of games and activities, including trivia, bottle toss, guess the number of tea bags in the jar, and the challenge of building card houses.

Many guests embraced the Mad Hatter theme and arrived in fantastic costumes, with prizes awarded for some of the standout outfits. The morning also featured a lively singalong, with guests up on their feet, dancing and singing together.

A special shout out goes to Jennifer, who did a fantastic job as host and MC, keeping the morning running smoothly and full of energy. Thanks also to Vicki, our wonderful White Rabbit, and to our Outlook Community Centre volunteers who helped with games, activities, raffles, setup and support throughout the event.

A major highlight of the morning was the raffle, which included dozens of generously donated prizes from local businesses and supporters, including Shanikas, Coles, Puffing Billy, Gumbuya World, Patties and many more.

Thanks to the generosity of guests, donors and the local community, the event raised around $2,200 for Cancer Council’s vital work in cancer research, prevention and support.

Outlook Community Centre extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered or helped bring the event to life. It was a morning filled with community spirit, colour and kindness, all for an important cause.

When it comes to making a difference, this community is definitely not mad… just marvellous.
