At Outlook NSW, we are proud to be part of the My Aged Care Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). This is a vital government initiative that is transforming the lives of older Australians by enabling them to remain independent in their homes for as long as possible. With over 38,000 older Australians currently on the waiting list for support services, we are thrilled to share that since commencing our services in December, we have already begun supporting nearly 300 participants. This milestone reflects our commitment to closing the gap in access to essential care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of older Australians. To achieve this, we’ve expanded our workforce, embracing greater diversity and positioning Outlook as an employer of choice.
Through CHSP, we deliver essential domestic assistance services, helping clients maintain their independence and enjoy an improved quality of life. These services include everyday tasks such as general cleaning and laundry, ensuring clients can live safely and comfortably in their own homes. For many, this support is life-changing, particularly for those living alone or experiencing reduced mobility, where simple tasks like vacuuming or mopping can pose significant fall risks, potentially leading to hospitalisation and a further loss of independence. In many cases, our domestic homecare workers are the only people clients see during the week, providing not just practical help but also vital social connection and a sense of safety and wellbeing.
The impact of these services has been profound. By managing essential household tasks, our clients can focus on what matters most to them, such as spending time with loved ones, pursuing hobbies, or enjoying a well-earned moment of relaxation. A clean and organised home contributes to improved mental and emotional wellbeing, offering comfort, stability, and reassurance. Knowing they are supported allows clients to approach daily life with confidence and peace of mind.
CHSP has quickly become a lifeline for many in our community, and we are incredibly proud of the difference it is making in the lives of our participants. At Outlook NSW Homecare, we are honoured to play a part in this important initiative and remain steadfast in our commitment to helping clients live happier, healthier, and more independent lives.
